Companion ship Services

Our Companionship Services are designed to help seniors, individuals with disabilities, and anyone requiring additional assistance remain active, independent, and engaged in their communities.

Our compassionate and trained companions provide one-on-one support tailored to each individual's needs, offering a trusted presence that promotes confidence, safety, and social connection.

 

 Our Services Include:

 

Accompaniment to medical and non-medical appointments

Support with shopping, errands, and grocery trips

Assistance attending social visits, family gatherings, concerts, sporting events, religious services, and community activities

Friendly companionship for walks, coffee outings, and recreational activities

Travel companionship for individuals requiring support when visiting family or attending appointments within British Columbia, between provinces, or travelling to the United States, subject to service availability and applicable travel requirements

Assistance with transportation coordination and navigating airports, bus terminals, train stations, or other travel connections

Light housekeeping, including tidying living spaces, laundry, dishwashing, meal preparation assistance, and household organization

Wellness check-ins and companionship to help reduce social isolation and promote emotional well-being

 

Every service is delivered with dignity, respect, and a person-centred approach. Whether you need a companion for a few hours, ongoing support, or assistance during travel, Heartland Community Services is committed to providing safe, reliable, and compassionate care every step of the way.

 

Please note: Companionship Services are non-medical and are designed to support independence and community participation. Services are customized based on each client's goals, preferences, and individual support needs.

Moving & Home Transition Services

 Our Moving & Home Transition Services are designed to provide compassionate, person-centred support that helps seniors, individuals with disabilities, and others experiencing life transitions move with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind.

Rather than simply assisting with a move, we focus on creating a smooth and supportive transition by working at each individual's pace and respecting their unique preferences, routines, and personal belongings.

Our Services Include:

  • Packing and unpacking personal belongings

  • Organizing and setting up kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces

  • Coordinating donations and disposal of unwanted household items

  • Supporting transitions between homes, supported living programs, retirement communities, and family residences

  • Helping individuals settle into their new home by recreating familiar layouts or organizing spaces according to their personal preferences

  • Providing emotional support and companionship throughout the moving process

  • Assisting with move planning, checklists, and coordination with family members, caregivers, and service providers

  • Light household setup, including organizing closets, cupboards, and essential living areas to promote comfort and independence

Our team works alongside individuals and their families to reduce the stress and uncertainty often associated with moving. Every transition is approached with patience, respect, and attention to detail, ensuring clients feel safe, supported, and comfortable in their new environment.

Please note: Our Moving & Home Transition Services focus on packing, unpacking, organizing, and transition support. We do not provide heavy furniture moving or commercial moving services but are happy to coordinate with professional moving companies when needed to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
